Historical Background

Recodo became a barangay by virtue of Commonwealth Act No. 39, s. 1937.

Although there are tales about how Recodo got its name, but there were no facts that can be found, hence, no details can prove how it was called Recodo.

It bounded by Cawit in the north, Tulungatung and Ayala in the west and by the Basilan Strait in the south.

It has two dry docks, namely; DMCI, Inc. and Varadero de Recodo. M&S Inc. is a manufacturer of veneer and plywood that is being exported to other countries. Miramar Fish company, Inc. is a Fish Canning Factory Fishmeal. Their products are also being exported and their fishmeal products are distributed locally.

Most of the residents here particularly those living near the shoreline, are fisherman by occupation.
