THE TOP BRASS of Landco Pacific Corporation (LANDCO), the purveyor of resort living, has cited Mayor Celso Lobregat’s “good governance” and donated three motorcycle units to the local police fore saying it is “our way of recognizing your valuable contribution to the peace efforts, progress and urbanization of the city”.

Alfred Zerez-Burgos Jr., president and chief executive officer of Landco November 30 turned over the motorcycles to Mayor Lobregat, who in turn handed it over to Zamboanga City Police OIC director Col. Mario Yanga during rites marking the grand launch of Woodridge Garden Village in a restaurant in Pasonanca.

“Because of your good governance and much esteemed friendship, Landco has decided to donate three motorcycles for use of the Zamboanga City Police Force”, Burgos declared.

As this developed, Delfin Wenceslao, president-owner of Wenceslao Real Estate, the land owner of Woodridge, also pledged additional three motorcycles for donation to the city and use of the local police.

Wenceslao said the forthcoming donation is a show of his support to Mayor Lobregat’s strong leadership in the city of Zamboanga.

Burgos said that the Landco, the developer of Woodridge “continues to look forward with the shared vision that under your dynamic and stable leadership, we may realize a fruitful partnership with the Zamboanga City government in paving the way to more landmark projects that will highlight Zamboanga’s tourism and Landco’s corporate goals”.

The turn over of the motorcycle facilities which was the highlight of grand launch activity, was also attended by Yanga, Councilors Nonong Guingona and Roel Natividad, City Administrator Antonio Orendain Jr. and City Hall Executive Assistant Roseller Natividad.

The Honda SR-200 motorcycles turned over yesterday cost P155, 000 each.

The facilities will help boost the mobility and patrol activities of the local police, according to Yanga.

Meanwhile, Mayor Lobregat expressed appreciation to the gesture of Landco and Woodridge, as he also emphasized his administration’s continuous support and assistance to the local police.

He added that with the support and cooperation of other stakeholders such as the Landco and Woodridge, the city government is well on its way to attain its vision of making Zamboanga a better place to live in.

The grand launch yesterday kicked off with the blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony at the gate and guardhouse of the Woodridge Garden Village in Lunzuran. The reception followed at the Patio Palmeras where the motorcycles were turned over.

The Woodridge is intended to be the first resort-like subdivision in the city, the biggest master planned residential development that will be equipped with village amenities and facilities.

The project is a joint venture of Landco and D.M. Wenceslao and sits on a 24-hectare property with gently rolling and sloping terrain along Lunzuran road, just a few meters away from the Ateneo de Zamboanga High School.

Woodridge is a high end residential community with first class Southern California-inspired resort amenities. The clubhouse will include a grand ballroom, freeform and kiddie pools, outdoor basketball court, tree-lined walkways, linear park and kid’s grove. The village will have lush landscaped main entrance, roads and rotundas; nature themed parks and open spaces, wide roads, 24-hour security and professional property management.
